According to Phoronix, Intel engineer Matthew Brost presented at XDC2025 in late September about significant progress on the Xe Linux graphics driver. The driver now has GPU Shared Virtual Memory working for single-device scenarios and user pointer support implemented. Multi-device SVM support remains in progress as part of Intel’s Project Battlematrix initiative. Brost confirmed PCI Express peer-to-peer plans and, more notably, revealed the Xe driver will support high-speed fabrics including UALink.
